SkimSafe’s protective card looks just like an ordinary payment card
but contains technology that stops criminals from stealing your payment
cardsâ information. When someone tries to scan your cards, the protective
card instantly transmits an interference signal which makes your cards
impossible to scan.
It is easy for criminals to hack your credit card without you even
noticing: They can easily steal your card details without even touching
your card. If you have a contactless card (RFID-enabled card) it is
possible for a thief to steal your personal information wirelessly. In the
same way as yoo use the card to pay for something wirelessly, a criminal
standing just a few feet away can intercept and read (skim) the data using
a RFID reader. The hacker will then have access to all the details
necessary to make an online purchase.
The SkimSafe RFID Blocking Card is a secure and convenient way to
protect your debit card, credit card, travelcard, or keycard. With a
thickness of just 1.5 mm, the blocking card is easy to fit into your
wallet, purse or phone cover along with other bank cards. The SkimSafe
card protector is equipped with a signal jammer which blocks the RF
signals of RFID readers used to skim credit cards. The SkimSafe signal
jammer protects an area 3 cm on either side of the blocking card, which
means that any card within that zone will be protected from skimming.
